How does strutbar Fit for d16y7??

Okay well I just got a front strut bar for my 1998 Ek. with a d16y7. When I tried putting the strutbar on, it would not fit because the air cleaner housing is in the way. So i think after market is the only way to go?

Does anyone here have a front strutbar with a d16y7?

They don't make strutbars specifically for d16y7. Like on Ebay allThe strutbar is advertised for all 96-00 civics.
I hate how the d16y7 throttlebody comes from the top..

Heres a thing I'm confused about an intake of a d16y7. I know that when you install a intake you take out the air cleaner housing so that the intake connects directly into the throttle body. but d16y7 has a IAT sensor connected to to the air cleaner housing. so what does it connect to when you take out the housing??

shock tower bars are designed differently. some rise high enough to clear the air cleaner you have and some dont. in your case, you need a different intake in order to use your bar

oh yeah, and that sensor will fit into your intake tubing. there should be a whole for it to fit

Get an elbow to replace that top air box and bam! cleared.

haha I know what you are thinking of, and thats connected to like the valve cover or something, its a like a tube..
the IAT sensor connector is made of wires....

haha you're slow and should listen to what i said. yes, you will have a vacuum hose from the valve cover to the intake, you'll also have a whole in the intake to place that sensor if you buy the proper aftermarket intake.

haha really ok Cool.. I am slow lol cool I did not know it has a connector to for the IAT sensor.
where can I find a intake that can fit my engine. and be able to fit my strut bar...

i have one on my d16y7, it took a bit of fitting alright but i got it working with the airbox, but it was a very very tight fit..

have no pics but will try get some

i will give you a step by step. ok step one park the car. step two secure the emergency brake so the car will not roll. step three place strut tower bar on top of your valve cover. step four slam the hood as hard as you can. step five jump on the hood while it is down. step six stand and admire your work.

are all D series valve covers the same. am after getting mine sprayed but if i can get a cam cover cheap i will paint that one then replace it with new gasket after i fit my timing belt with water pump and then get mine whats on the car sprayed up and sell it. this meaning hopefully the car is only off the road during 1 day
