Wait, maybe you can compare the headgaskets from the wannabe k20a3 and the k20a2 and see if they are the same, same head gasket should mean the head will bolt right up. And you will have a lighter version of the A2 but still you will have already had the motor.

i think u would also need to replace the timing belt crankshaft and pistons if it's even possible

a2 head will go on a a3 block. No timing belts on k series either. But you cant rev as high as a a2 block, cause of the weak a3 crank and rods.

and just as stated on the second page of this thread, it wont make as much power at higher rpms because of the lack of compression vs the a2 block.

it is cheaper if he gets a a3 swap for near nothing and just swap out the crank/rods/pistons, and slap a head on then paying like 4-5k for a a2 swap

after you've bought a K20A2 head.......K20A2 or ITR crankshaft, con rods, and pistons, ECU, and put the s**t together, you basically just bought a damn K20A2 complete swap and just put the s**t together yourself.

okay so now you guys are saying you can swap internals... earlier i asked if you could, and you guys said theres certain difficulties... wassup with that

on ep hatch a guy was selling a complete internals for a a2 head for $300 shipped. crank can be had for 200/300, pistons and rods etc 400

So 1k + a3 swap for like what $1,300 = still cheaper then a a2 swap

i might keep the a3 i get free installation for it from my uncle, so should i get all ITR parts like cams pistons, crank and all of the other things, what do you guys think i would be running on that

that will run you. I would personally shop around for someone who is going for boost or something and buy the oem s**t.

just get a2 head with stock head internals, and hen ITR internals for the a3 block.. POOR MANS TYPE R!!! with a 05+ a2 tranny with a 4.7 final drive LSD then slap on a snail and booooooooost your ass into warp modeeee peEPEPEPEP pepp peww peww pewww ZOOOOOOOOOOOm

i like the sound effects, here's what i would 02hondaex. Buy a3 if u want to boost, 250hp is good horse power on a civic, plus hondanuts will prase the swap in genral. But if u wana go all motor go a2. I think doing a frankenstien swap on a a3 is a waste of $ and time, plus it's not easy project. If u wana frankenstien get a k24a1 and put an k20a2 head on it, u'll have more torque than a rsx type s with the horse power to keep it fast, however i'm pretty sure you stll don't get the same redline as a k20a2/z1 but you'll have them off the line 4show

i think im just gunna sale the a3 and turbo my stock d17 it only has 80k on it, il buy a d16 or d15 greddy turbo kit so that its legal here, that sounds good right?
