custom painted valve cover

well today i finished another valve cover i picked this one up at the junk yard for dirt cheap...shaved it and painted it...this was all done with auto paint like my first one and the paint is sikkens...leave some comments and if you would like one painted send me a pm and we can talk about it

and for those who forget this is the one i did that is on my car

and my custom block off plate i painted

Nissan Sentra Valve Cover..Shaved Twin Cam 16 Valve and casting lines...silver metallic blue with white splatter and polished nissan lettering

This was done for a member on here icwicked he wanted red metallic dc's ove black metallic and shaved honda

here is job i did for my buddy on his 07 si sedan...it isnt finished yet that doesnt have clear on it he is not to sure if he likes it but here is pics of it on his car

heres one i m in the process of doing not to sure how i m goin to finish it up but here ya go

greenish blue gunmetal with a polished rising sun...got some imperfections but still looks badass this is also FOR SALE lmk if interested

lots of time and just being careful i can give a list of steps and on the next one i do i will do pictures of it all

1. i use stripper and strip all the paint off the valve cover
2. get out my grinder and grind down the casting marks and the honda or h or whatever is on it
3. sand over the grinder marks with 80 grit, then 180, 220, 320
4. any paint left on in the hard areas i sanded with 320 by hand
5. acid cleaned it with wheel acid cleaner
6. ran it through the parts wash to help clean grease and what off it it
7. decreased it with degreaser
8. acid washed it again
9. put down a thin coat of acid etch primer
10. then 3 good coats of filler primer
11. left it dry
12. block sand the flat areas with 320 and hand sanded the rest with 320
13. solvent cleaned it
14. sprayed sealer over it
15. Then sprayed black base coat
16. then misted a gold pearl, silver metallic glitter and a hint of red pearl over it
17. sprayed 2 good coats of clear
18. left dry
19. wet sanded with 1000 grit
20. got my stencil and my air brush and sprayed gold and cooper pearl to fill in the Famous F's
21. sprayed 2 more coats of clear
22. left dry
23. wet sand with 2000
24. buffed it with compound and waxed it

thats about it lol
