16 or 17 inch rims?

I've been contemplating...is there really a big difference between 16 inch and 17 inch rims? I placed an order for Drag DR-25 17X7 4-100 rims with 205/40-17 tires...(I can still cancel)...but after reading some reviews on 17's on 6th gen civics...I feel I made a mistake. Most people here say 16's are the way to go...and now I'm inclined to agree. I don't want to keep switching back and forth with what I should go with...and I'm concerned with the differences on weight, acceleration, and wear and tear on my car. What do you guys suggest? Should I cancel now and hope to get 16's instead? Or should I just go ahead with the 17's (which are available in the style I wanted -6 spoke gloss black w/chrome lip)?

You can lower your car more with 16's.

i have 17's and you don't want them. Cancel and go w/ 16's. They look better, smoother ride, and you can just do more with them. Less headache.

15" have better tire options, but I want 16"s because I want the big rim look without having big rims.

15's, IMO...look best in 195/50/15 tires...not 205/50's.

The 205/50's side wall looks a bit beefy to me.

16'' the best size for 6th generation... i have some 16'' bsa racing wheel on my civic 96 si coupe and the look beautiful... the perfect size is 205 45 16

I'm on 205/50/15 tires, I like the wider look, never really thought of the sidewall looking gigantic and oversized.
