Was my dad's he bought it (in 1998) off the original owner (for $3500), whom bought it off a showroom floor in 1987 at $26, 000. Then my dad gave the car to me as a summer driver under his name last summer when I got my license. It's going to be under my name on my birthday this year.
Just CC is the only forum I'm on. When I need tech information, I go to my dad, he was a master tech on mazdas and a specialist on rotaries when he worked for mazda.
The engine has been rebuilt once in it's entire life, only just to keep it alive. My dad replaced the apex seals and streetported it while he was at it.
I believe the body has about 169xxx kms with 20xxx kms on the engine.
^^^Nice...I finally got my car back yesterday after almost a month and a half...already put the rims/seats back in...fixing to go out and do the rear wiper delete and put on the front splitter...
Starting the up the car and waking it up from it's 3 month hibernation in a 20 minute timeframe to clean out the carbon build up and soot. Going to be going back on the road in a couple weeks.
One hell of a smokescreen....
I only stuck my hand in to make sure that the engine and the exhaust gasses are at the right temperature when warmed up.
The only reason the engine idles so smooth and not go brap brap brap because when a ported rotary is computer tuned to perfection, it will idle smoothly, all thanks to my dad.
Just before shutting it off, I revved it to redline and quickly released the throttle, a massive backfire blew, blasted one of the cardboard boxes behind the car around and I saw a cloud of black smoke in the rear view mirror... a heck a lot of carbon.
Just got the car lowered a few days ago...also in the process of installing the front/rear Speed3 seats...the pics are from the first test fitting...and installed an MP3 front splitter...
