Wow do I ever respect Destroy and joe7987 after reading this thread completely. I have sadly fallen in love with my piece of junk too. Sad to say it. I can't let it go. Got a question for Destroy and joe7987, if you are to build a car without the intention of getting attention would you call one a ricer? To get attention is one thing but to strive for it is another, is it not? I'd rather not want attention because then the police are on your ass.
Let me try to clarify this for myself... one who builds a car without the intention of getting attention..... is that a ricer?

Why would it be? I don't understand how that could even be a question. Maybe I'm misunderstanding it.

Regardless, the term ricer is incredibly subjective and can mean many different things to many different people. Don't get hung up on it. Do what you like to your car and leave it at that. That's all that really matters. As long as YOU enjoy YOUR hobby, everything else will fall into place.

well i'm suprised by two things... A: you guys see that picture and think that its that bad that i shouldn't even TRY to fix it up... hell its just a paint job... with a little bit of rust...B: 10g's was hard earned.. no i dont have that just sitting around to spend which is why i came here looking for advice... but really all i've gotten so far is critisizm... I was hoping to speak to people who've gone through the process of taking something that isn't so great and turning it into something that is.. but really now i'm a little discouraged...

lol, don't take the opinions of the few as the facts of many.

There are plenty of people who fit that ideal on here. For best results, you really should make a post in your specific generation section (4th gen tech for you.) The off topic section is generally where everyone sits around and talks s**t to each other. The rules are stricter in the tech sections so you'll get more of the answers you're looking for.

To the comments you made earlier. I do what I do with my cars because I like it. I stopped caring about getting others attention for my car a long time ago. Even once you get it where you think you want it, there's ALWAYS negative criticism and you're NEVER going to be happy with it. There are too many people out there with diff likes and dis-likes that it's impossible. Make yourself happy, set goals for yourself and meet them. If you regret something down the road, you only have yourself to blame.

If I really liked the way pink looks on a car, hell i'd paint my car pink. I couldn't give a rat's ass for what someone else thinks about it. I'M THE ONE THAT DRIVES IT EVERYDAY!!!

And even when you get it where you want it, the most you're going to get from anyone else that has a clue is a "yeah, man. looks good bro." Yeah you'll get the ooo's and ahh's and holy sh*t's from aspiring ricers but who gives a flying f&*k about them anyways?

well the body is in great condition.. some rust spots that will need to be cut out and sheet metal welded back in place, which is something that i've done a thousand times.... as far as underneath the car it looks pretty solid... there are no sqeeks rattles or odd noises comming from anywhere on the car.. the interior is pretty good but i planned on buying a new dash, new console, and new door panels from somewhere that sells oem honda parts... the paint job is going to be changed to a flat black or matte black, gonna drop a b16a into it and get new headers and exhaust.. then either purchase a turbo kit or piece one together and reinforce a few internal components.. then whatever is left with the money i'll drop into either seats, steering wheel, rims, audio equipment or all three...

its just a makeover.. I like the body style of the car.. its got personality as i told my step father when i bought it.. so i wouldnt' wanna go throwing body kits and all that crap on it..

I dunno, i'm guessing that all the boo's i got were from later model civic owners lol

Oh, I'm sorry, was that supposed to be funny?
I chuckled
Boo for flat black. I think it's played out on older civics. Hey, if you like it...:P and if you're wanting 300 up at the wheels you man want to steer away from the B16. Don't get me wrong, it can be done but it'll require a little more than replacing a few internal parts. I vote H22 or B18. Better base to start with. You can an H22 fornpretty cheap THEN replace a few parts and you'll get closer, easier, and prob with less headaches. My .02

You obviously didn't beet, aka BEAT anyone in the spelling bee either.
And a bone stock 3.8 will wipe a bone stock zc's ass over and over. What mods does your zc have?

Green civic owner, do what you want, it's your money and well you have to drive the vehicle.
