Well last friday night I get off work and aproach my house a little after 1. Now i live in a mid-class neighborhood so when i saw a black male in my backyard i was wondering what he was doing there. I got out of my car and turned my brights on to see him. I asked what the f**k are you doing in my backyard as he mumbled and started to walk towards me hopping over the fense. I took a couple steps back and asked again. He then tried to attack me and he wrestled me to the ground and then i blacked out from hitting my head on the ground. I woke up with him on top of me throwing punches so i quickly started to wrestle his arms so he could not strike me. About a week earlier i had found a fixed blade knife with a sheath that i carried under my shirt for opening boxes mainly. When this came into my mind i quickly pulled it out and stabbed him. He still wasn't completely off me so i grabbed it again and threw it into another spot into his stomach. He then limped away as i crawled to my car to cover my head that was gushing blood out the back from when i bounced it on the ground. I called my brother who was sleeping inside to get the gun and he came out as the perpetrator was climbing over the fence an acre away. So good news is that he got away before getting shot and ive had to take vicodin since for my head and recieved 5 staples to sow my head shut. But if they do find him, i want my knife back that you ran off with in your stomach and hopefully you just died in another state...f**ker

I now carry my brothers P22 around on my hip concealed and applied for my gun permit and I want to get the gun my brother has since its fawesome and thats what ive shot since i was like 12 lol and its a S&W 40 sigma series But he got the allied forces edition which is all black instead of a silver slide.

I'm s glad I still have more days to be with my family now.

My name is Mark and I am 19 5.6" and 145lbs and I beat off an attacker that weighed probably almost double what I did. Keep smoking that crack f**ker!

What a piece of s**t, but can't say you did the best thing by confronting him. Anyways, I would not recommend concealing a handgun without a permit.

lol, good job dude...

You know he's not going to the hospital with a stab wound, hospitals ask questions and call cops about that kinda s**t. If you report it and he goes to the hospital, he'll be caught. But if you didn't report it, you can get yourself in some trouble there.

How deep did you stab him?

What are you talking about?? Concealing a hand gun and then posting about it on clubcivic makes you hard!! Better watch out for this guy!

Im not carrying it around in public. I carry it around the house, at work, and tucked away in my car in a box unloaded. All 3 which are legal. But I had a CRKT knife and the blade was about 3 1/2 inches long and the first stab it went all the way down to the handle. The second was probably half way in just because it felt horrible to do to someone but on the other hand he was attacking me...

It was reported. Almost the whole police force was in my font yard lol and then most of the cars went looking for the SOAB. I gave my story about 5 times to police, medics, and detectives. I didn't think it would end up like this when i approaced him...

Not quite

Once you get your indiana LTCH (license to carry handgun) as you dont have ccw's in your state, then you will be legal to carry both openly and concealed.... until then, you are only allowed to transport open and unloaded firearms in your car

carrying at work can get you fired or arrested.. or both, quite easily

but once you get home, you could duct tape that POS p22 to your forehead if you wish, it's all legal there

Yeah thats true since it was self defense. But if he ever makes the horrible mistake of coming back or sending over one of his thugs he'll be shot. Everyone in the house carrys except me since no permit and then my brothers girlfriend since no permit but everyone has at least 1 gun around them while sleeping, ect.. My room-mate that lives in the basment has a probably 25 guns lol. My fav are his AR15 he built and is about to help me build mine over winter and his glock collection.

So if it is in my trunk in a box and unloaded I can carry in my car. So it is a legal method that im doing. And almost everyone carrys at work. Its a private owned luxury bus company as well as fedex storage and only 1 of our fedex drivers do not carry and 1 person in the office doesn't carry. Pretty much everyone except the mechanics carry glocks and S&W's only some prefer open carry but i think that is way to easy to grab onto someone elses gun as well as element of surprise to pull it only when you need to like i had even my knife.

And yes the P22 is a pos but as long as it will put holes in someone i dont care. The S&W sigma will do just fine when i get it and my dad is loaning his kel tec .380 for the time being now(he just stopped by). I rather have someone else shoot a trespasser anyway because the feeling i recieved when sticking a knife into somebody has carried on since that night.

your "but everyone else is doin it" excuse wont hold up in court.... it's still illegal...

you're taking the risk, but what your risking is giving more canon fodder to the anti crowd which effects those of us who carry legally

well i dont think it will matter since my permit is on its way. I'll be taking it in my car at night when i have to work late night shifts and no one is going to know about it except me and the people 500 miles away typing on their computers. So if i would get in trouble then so be it but i dont feel like getting another 5 staples in my head or my life ending by a crack phene

you'll be fine... as long as nobody knows and you dont have to use it... otherwise you're f**ked

then maybe next time you'll drive down the block and call the cops and your roomies instead of confronting someone twice your size alone.....

you'll need to think things through more thoroughly and defensively when you have your permit
remember that the castle doctrine law in your state says that you dont have to run, but that doesnt mean that standing your ground is always the best move

1st rule of having a permit and gun in a fight.... RUN... run away, run fast, run far, run run run

if that doesnt work, go to step 2, fight... fight to win and fight till there is no danger... but if you see an opportunity to run in the midst of the fight, take it... and run far, run fast, run run run away

if you skip step 1 with a gun... prepare to defend yourself in court

otherwise, it sounds like you're on the same road as this guy

Well there was no way of really leaving since the keys were coming out of the ignition as i looked up and saw him. And I never thought i would be a victim. I never thought i would ever have to pull a knife or gun in my life but unfortanately it happend. I guess i was hoping that he would just go away since i confronted him but ive looked more and more into defenses and even when and how to handle weapons including guns. I thought i knew most about everything in the matter before it had happend only i was QUITE wrong. But thank you all for the advise and kind words. He got what he deserved. I got a f**king headache...

edit: oh yeah and running wont be a problem. I usually compete in half marathons and recent long distance races and i do the best out of my age almost every time =)

yea without a permit makes you look stupid, it's like we tell you it's illegal and your gonna get caught one day.
If anyone can put a couple grand in thier cars, they can put it to a permit

dont ever expect someone to back down from a confrontation.... not even if you have a gun pointed at them

http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=370846

I looked in my driver's side view mirror just in time to see an incredibly irate man, face fire engine red, teeth gritted stomping toward my door. I drew my KetTec P3AT in anticipation, but kept it unseen, and as he passed the rear door of my car he slammed the glass with the side of his right fist very hard. He stopped at my window and began screaming at the top of his lungs to move my %$#*&^ car or he was going to kick my %$#*)(^$#*^% a$$. So...I pointed my pistol at him. He began screaming "shoot me shoot me" over and over. I was trapped at this point with the little old lady backing out and the assailant's car parked behind me.
This guy had his bluff called.

a gun can save your life, but it can also escalate the situation immensely.

Take a tactical weapons class... there's allot more to it than knowing how to nail a target.
You need to know how to shoot when the bad guy is 2 inches away as well as 20' away. Muzzle control is essential, practice is necessary, and hesitation is deadly.

So get your license, buy your gun, spend thousands of dollars and countless hours on ammo and training.... and then dedicate your life to never having to utilize any of it.
