Gas Mileage

Obviously one of the reasons we drive Hondas. I'm afraid I'm not getting the best mileage I can, what can I do to know nothing is wrong with my car? Post your year, motor, and average mileage for a tank of gas.

can't you just look up the gas mileage ratings from when the car was entered into the market and then do a comparison to yours?

i had a 98 with a d16y8 and i was getting 22 mpg city driving. i dont know anyone else who got worse mileage than that so consider yourself lucky

Keep your air cleaner and oil clean, and keep the tires pumped up right.

But don't forget the way you drive is the biggest factor in your mileage.

i unno my fuel light come on last week, put 20 bucks in it, which is like 9 gallons,and was over full, went like 315 miles doin 80 mph for like a hour, 2 times a day, monday - friday dunno what that is in mpg

thats AC on all the time. and stepping on it from a stop.

I know i can get better than that tho. im working on it. its all in the driving.

Does the AC really make a difference? I'm fine with driving windows down, but lately I've had the AC on nonstop. Here soon I'm changing all the fluids and spark plugs, maybe I'll see a difference.

A/C will make a difference if you use it a lot. Even if you don't see a big difference, the fluids and plugs are def a good idea to change if they haven't been done in a while. Might do the distributor cap and rotor and wires while you're at it.

Forgot to mention that my average mileage is combined city and highway (work and school everyday) and i drive pretty hard on a daily basis.

I can get almost 34 on the highway and usually get about 30-32 in town.
