THEN GET IT OUT OF THE BILL!!!
I guess the idea is that if there was no penalty, then there might be a problem with adequate compliance, even though officials don't really want to penalize anybody. With that said, they may end up penalizing a small number of non-compliant individuals as examples that would prompt others to comply.
your right.. but last time i checked it was MY choice as to what to do WHEN i get sick.. it is MY choice to save money for that day... or not.. it is MY choice to go to the doctor or not.. i personally NEVER get sick so at this point i do NOT have health care because on the off chance i get sick it is cheaper for me to just pay and go to the dr. and be done with it.. so FORCING me to pay for health care so YOU can get it cheaper is f**kED UP... you are TAKING from me and GIVING to you.. "all in the name of the greater good"
The Bill has a more long term outlook. The idea is that, while you are healthy now, it's highly unlikely that this will be the case as you become older. Then is when you will probably reap the benefit of the Bill. Alternatively, though I hope this does not happen, you could have an unexpected debilitating accident, and then the Bill would benefit you sooner.
my point is you seem to have NO issue in that... where does it stop for you? you know if you rented or purchased a house that had ONE more room than you NEEDED.. and the government stated that you must take that room and house a homeless person.. you could say it IS for the greater good.. it WOULD reduce the number of homeless.. it WOULD reduce sots to the government trying to house these people with no where to go.. would you do it? would you be for it in the name of the greater good? f**k NO.. why? because its RIDICULOUS for the government to expect YOU to deal with someone elses problems.. life is tough you have enough of your own problems..
Actually, I personally do support some governmental programs designed for "the greater good". Again, I think your primary issue is with any government that is too big. I understand this concern. It's a fine line that we walk between a capitalistic and socialistic government. There must be some happy medium.
