Please, if you're going to comment, please include pros and cons about ur opinion. Also, I know the D17s aren't exactly mod friendly. This will be a DD, plan on boosting if the far future. Thanks in advance.

I'd say the EJ, always liked 'em. 7th Gens just don't do it for me.

Honestly, I think that both cars are kind of pricey, especially the 6th gen.

@civhatch92, why?
Just never really been a fan of 7th gen civics... don't get me wrong though, there are a few REALLY clean ones. 6th Gen is also cheaper... giving you more money for upgrades. They both have the same mileage about, so I vote 6th gen so you can save some dough!

pros
good on gas?

cons
slow as balls...
not very responsive to modifications..
not my style at all..

JUST putting this out there.. NOT trying to sway you from the Honda camp.. but what is your goal? if you want a quick car that is pretty easy to work on and all.. you can get a late 80's early 90's domestic AND make it pretty f**king fast for under $7k... fast like you could give that civic a 5+ car head start and STILL go flying past it.. i am NOT anti Honda by any means.. but i just sit here thinking.. $7,000 car.. plus lets just say $3,000 in mods over the coarse of a year or so.. that puts you $10,000 in.. for $10k you could probably build a Mustang (or similar car) that could pull the front wheels off the ground while making a s**t ton of torque and horse power.. BUT if thats not what you are after then a Honda may be a better choice.. its all in what you are looking for..

true that. but aren't the 6th gens not rust proof painted?

im just looking for a car that is reliable at the moment. in the future, when i have the money, i plan on boosting it. but that's not for a long time.

i vote 7th gen. i love the way they look, they are comfortable (may consider since its a dd), If its a dd you probably aren't trying to build a race car and well... hondas aren't race cars anyway... i'd pick whatever you like the appearance of better, and for me thats the 7th gen.

I would go with the EJ.

Pro's -
Many more options for a 6th gen rather the 7th gen
To me, I like the look of the 6th gen more than the 7th gen.

Con's -
7th gen probably has less miles (didnt look, just took a glance at the pics).

exterior appearance wise, i love the 6th gen. interior appearance wise, i love the 7th gen.

*Side note, I KBB'd the 00 Civic. Suggested Retail is $6,955. I will be trading in my 95 coupe for down payment. I will try and get a loan from my bank too.
