So me and my lady are gonna have our first kid and we just found out its probably gonna be a girl (assuming the ultrasound tech is correct)... we are gonna name the little lady Peyton/Payton... for which lies the dilemma.

What do you guys and gals think is more feminine... Payton with an A or Peyton with an E.

Thanks.

This is true... actually both names are considered boys names... however the woman has her heart set on it and there is no way I could convince her to choose something else.

Now Eli, that's very feminine :oh:
Unfortunately this is our pit-bulls name. Doubt she would want to name our kid after our dog. :x

Both are masculine IMO. But hey, some girls have guys names and some guys have girls name.

Pick a different name  :rolf:.

:word:

To me Payton/Peyton is a guys name. Nothing worse than being named a manly name cause daddy wanted a boy, or being named a girly name cause mommy wanted a little girl :oh:

I would say Peyton. And my dads friend has a granddaughter with that name, I dont think there is anything wrong with it.....as long as it is spelled Peyton and not Payton.

There is really no story behind it... the wifey wanted a girl and she wanted to name her Payton... with her being all pregnant and s**t I wasnt about to disagree. It has grown on me... but I think it should be spelled with an E (Peyton)... however im finding the general census is leaning towards Payton with an A.

And yes, I missed the joke... you would have to fill me in.

If I didn't know better and you told me your kid's name was Payton/Peyton, I'd assume it was a boys name.....

Not bashing, just an honest opinion. Peyton seems slightly more feminine I guess......

Yea, origin of the name payton/peyton is boy based... something or other.

However, my lady a fan of One tree hill (Peyton Sawyer - played by Hilliarie Burton & Peyton List from Mad Men/Flash Forward)... she kinda fell in love with the name. I almost burst her bubble when I told her you sure you want our daughter to have the same first name as Peyton Manning... she was like... "who is that?"... /facepalm.... I did further explain, but I was severely disappointed she didn't know who he was.

As a girl myself... I'd go with Peyton... The A spelling seems more like a boy to me.

i agree, i like peyton better. payton seems more masculine, dunno why... but the peyton spelling just looks better, imo.

on a side note, i don't think there's anything wrong with having a masculine name at all. it's not like it's bruce or something.

I'd say Peyton. And I think some names could work for both genders.
