Yeah they can call you back. But you have to officially quit for like a week and then they can bring you back on for another year. But afaik it's no raises. I just see no point in that. Why not just hire the guy? I can't be a contractor for the rest of my life.

why not? some of the people i work with choose to stay contract. theres pros and cons to both, really. right now i love contract because i get paid hourly, and i get 1.5 for overtime. my benefits are pretty good, i just dont get as many paid holidays as a direct

Thats crazy the company you work for does it like that john. Im with you you would think theyd rather have the same people that they know and have already trained and know they can do the job.
Just finished painting the windshield wiper arms and the grill on my girlfreinds truck. Put the GA tag on it and took off a broken bug shield thing that was on it. Burning time now leaving soon to take her, her truck back and pickup my car then going to a buddies house to watch horrible boses.

You get paid hourly if you're a regular employee. You just get paid every 2 weeks instead of every 1. I'm fine with that. Why would I rather be an employee? Because with my company, I have never heard of a lay off. They don't fire you unless you do something really bad and I heard the process is a pain in the ass. The majority of the people have been with the company for 20-30+ years. I work with a woman who has been there 35 years. If I was a regular employee, I wouldn't have to constantly worry about, "damn it's slow, I wonder if they're going to let me go. damn that means I have to find a job".

I just checked the weather... Holy crap I'm looking forward to the weekend. Good time to do my oil change, vacuum the inside, and maybe inspect the brakes.

For those who were in the FB chat the other day. I said I couldn't date a girl taller then me, but that's likely to not happen because I'm 6'2.5". Well they hired some new people and there is this girl who is an inch taller then me. I didn't think it would happen.
