The vtc is the "i" part in i-vtec. Its the variable timing control cam gear which advanced or retards the intake camshaft throughout the entire rev range giving it the ability to maximize power and fuel economy. The factory vtc in a k24 is only a 25° cam gear which obviously provides less advance and retard versus the k20 vtc's which go to 50°. The k24 vtc's are at 25° due to the longer stroke and piston to valve contact, but the '06-08 tsx was redesigned with extra clearance making the 50° useful when using OEM cams and some aftermarket stage 1 cams depending on lift specs.Call me a noob all you want, but could someone please explain the 50 degree VTC cam gear to me?
Maybe not? :OMaybe.....
He aint effin round!Maybe.....
Oh alright. Makes sense. I'll need to know this when I go K haha. The vtc is the "i" part in i-vtec. From hondata's research, the tsx needs more vtc advance with as little as an intake and header to maximize power.
