With exhausts, if I remember correctly, 92-95 and 96-00 Coupes/Sedans exhausts are interchangeable
(Coupe/Sedan undercarriage are very similar if not the same)
The same with 92-95 and 96-00 hatchbacks, they're interchangeable. The only differences would be exhaust manifolds and O2 sensor locations.
(Hatchback undercarriage is different from the coupe/sedan, the muffler piping is generally shorter)

I just got a muffler for the look. The way I see it, as long as I have a stock D-series engine, I won't be expecting any power, so why waste money. How about finding a used 06-11 Civic SI (sedan or coupe) OEM muffler? Try shooting an offer between $50-$120

Polish it, get it modified to fit your stock piping at a muffler shop if it doesn't bolt straight up. Then aokay, should be good. I always wished to do this, but never had the cash, as cheap as it is.

Catbacks:

$150-$350 Yonaka.

^what he said. But if money is a concern and you want a lower budget cat back system, I had a custom made catback installed on my 96 hatch for the time being. It consists of 2.25 inch piping and a turbo style resonator, with a 2.5" inlet/outlet turbo style aluminized summit racing muffler. I had a local exhaust shop do the install, ordered the muffler from summit's website for 26$ shipped, arrived in 3 days, they have awesome shipping. The exhaust shop supplied the resonator. Turbo style means the exhaust enters the canister and travels through an "s" shaped baffled chamber, that is further quieted by internal packing. I'm very happy with the end result a nice smooth and deep idle with a slight growl on acceleration. I don't think it gets any louder than 95 decebels, which is slightly louder than stock. It flows well and is all tone. Poor mans ws2 exhaust lol, and it only cost in total 170$ including installation. Different exhaust shops and labor rates vary. =)

I always wondered how the Dynomax super turbo muffler sounds on a D-series. Here it is on an H:

Here's the one in the video

Here's one that I found to be a similar axleback style to the ws2 (piping, and sizing)

buddy club spec2 this exhaust is pretty quite but when at high rpms it can scream pretty loud and ive also got a 1996 honda civic ek sedan. whats good?

and I got a eBay n1 exhaust its pretty loud too disturbs the neighbors and recently got pulled over for it. I f**kin LOVE IT. i would recommend it to people who have low budget and LOVE loud exhausts.

I like how the apexi WS2 sounds. Quiet but has the deep sound to it. I don't like the one that sounds like a can though lol. Anyone know where I can get this one?

Yonaka is definitely the best choice for the price. Can't beat $239-$249 shipped! I got mine from tuner sports, the only problem is that it is often on back order. I'd say just order it, if it's back ordered then be patient. It is worth the wait.

yeah thanks JeffBell but yeah i think im going with Yonaka but i can't find it for my car. lI thought it was model YMCB001 but i was looking at the actual site yonaka.com and it says
" Honda Civic 92-00 2DR/4DR Catback Exhaust
(will not fit the 3DR hatch or the 96-00 LX/HX/DX coupes)"

but ive never seen a 96-00 LX coupe lol they were always a sedan so i got a bit confused. so what do i do?

Call them. The hatchbacks have a b-pipe

Coupes and sedans use the same exhaust
