What have you done to your 5th Gen Civic Today?

Well, seems I might have blown the head gasket. Pulled into driveway this morning, and started running rough. Noticed a little white smoke as well out the exhaust. Haven't pulled the plugs yet to confirm, but pretty sure got a leak. SO, had to accelerate my plans to buy another car. Ended up buying a 99 Civic Ex (manual) this morning so I could get to and from work while the 5th gen is down for engine repairs.

finally broke down and bought an air compressor this week. After the trouble I went through last time I took off the crank pulley bolt, thought the compressor and air impact wrench are going to make the job a little easier. It's time to change the timing belt, so gonna do it and water pump when I change the head gasket
been slowly helping my son remove the head from the 92, so we can check the head gasket. Pretty sure it's toast, but need to see how bad everything is. Normally he doesn't stick around to help when I'm working on the cars in the driveway, but now that he knows he's gonna get this once it's repaired, he's magically found motivation to work on it. Nothing like doing it yourself to learn how to do it (well, having the factory service manual doesn't hurt either)
CLEAN!!So I painted a spare valve cover with a metallic silver plan on doing the letters red a little bit later when i get some more tape.

good idea. no telling how long it's been since prior owner did it. changing fuel filter, air filter, and checking spark plugs as well?
oh, that sucks! I hung mine in the garage for a week to let it cure

It runs fine so I just wanted to take care of the obvious stuff first. Previous owner said he thought the oil was changed around 1,200 miles ago but it could be 8,000 for all I know. Easy $15 peace of mind.
I'll check the filters and plugs next. Tires could use some balancing too since it shakes a little at 65 mph.

Nothing in the past week or so. Been trying to get my s10 reliable enough to make a pull a part run to get parts for the civic
