I was thinking about buying one with this check but I have rent, a track day to pay for, Le Mans Driver Search to pay for, phone and other small bills, Reno, tires, and like $1,000 worth of prep for the car. No matter how much I make, I'm always living paycheck to paycheck

I'm right there with you dude. I tend to just stack more crap on top of my monthly payments when I make more money.
Typically how it goes. But now I've become so accustomed to being broke all the time, I just still live like I'm broke when I now make WAY more money. It works great.
Pretty much the same. It's not really my monthly bills that get me, aside from rent being $1k, it's mostly the dumbass car and recently trips to Reno and all over Northern California. This is one reason I don't finance a car, it would take away too much financial flexibility.
Sometimes I can do that, just pretend I have nothing. But it's trackday expenses that I can't quite avoid. I took a couple months off, but it's time to go back

EXACTLY. My bills and rent take up about 1/6th of my income. I have a considerable amount leftover afterward, but I tend to dump money into EVERYTHING else (bike, car, house, hanging out with friends, small business my buddies and I run etc.), and I end up broke lol. I'm great with managing my funds, just don't make enough to supplement my lifestyle.
Haha. No lie. I've been trying to work on fitness and stop drinking so much so I bought a couple of trail bikes for me and my gf on Friday, plus that means I have to buy safety equipment now. I can't afford any more hobbies, s**t's bananas

Got my alignment done today, ride hight actually leveled its self out. All corners within 1/4 of an inch of each other. Bad thing is I've got -3 camber in the rear and have room to come out if I get a camber kit.

Gonna go see the girl I've been talking to after work. It's getting progressively serious.
I live paycheck to paycheck (18 hr 40hrs a week wife's income house note 700 2 car notes insurance on 3 cars day care other bills) about 2700 in bills can wait to have atleast a car paid off. This leads to little to no progress on the toy.

About to strangle the new hire that is working as my counterpart. I was promoted 2 months ago. I was interviewing people to back fill my position and we interviewed this person and didn't like them cause they had no experience and they would have had to spoon feed them info constantly. Well, they decided to hire them for a more advanced role (my new position) and have them work/learn from me.
Buy fans and put buckets of ice behind them. Works wonders.
