Today in class, we threw some of our cars on the lifts. I put mine on it and got underneath and wrote up the repair order (the purpose of the whole thin) as reverse hard to shift into, grinds occasionally. It wouldn't go in the first time today when centering the car on the lift and then grinded the second time. So eventually I'm gonna check that out. Anyways, threw it up and got underneath. Found out I may have an oil pan gasket leak (lots of oil around the edges of the pan and lots of gunk around those areas) so I'm gonna clean it up real good and then grab a new gasket from Honda if i can find one around here. (another $30) Also, gonna bleed my clutch on Monday as well as drop my exhaust and reseal the gaskets and align everything nicely.
I am loving this school and the benefits it offers. I'm gonna get a quote to have my front end realigned and maybe have a new rad support welded in so everything fits and lines up correctly.

What's that gonna do? I want to do it myself. I don't learn if I have someone else do it. I will check out the collision lab on Monday and see what's up. As for paint matching the hatch, the defroster doesn't work so i'm scrapping it whenever I get my other one on when I go on break.

true true, i forget you just started there lol oil pan gasket is so easy now that i forget for some people its a learning experience. you will be mind f**ked on how much you know between now and graduation. but enjoy it while you can, those two years fly by, and after them its no longer fun time and tinker on cars all day. id love to go back, i would in a second, except welding program this time

I can't bring the hatch up here, it's too big. Doesn't fit in the teg lol. And I know how to change the oil pan, it's just so much easier on a lift cause I don't have to deal with wiggling underneath my car with only a foot of clearance between the ground and the car. Plus, I can knock out multiple things at once and get this thing much smoother.
I dont have that kind of time but if and when i get laid off again thats what imma do.

I'm slowly learning that. I read a pretty inspirational book written by bear grylls recently. It talked a lot about staying grounded and really appreciating the more important things in life, and that those things typically cost the least. He said one line that really stuck with me. No one gets old and wishes they spent more time in the office. They wish they spent it chasing their dreams, their true purpose. Spending time with loved ones and family, making an impact on people's lives.
It really spoke to me. The book is called "survival guide to life" it's a great read.
I can attest to that...
