It's pretty easy man. Get a feeler gauge and a socket set, as well as new valve cover gasket kit Make sure car is cool, find specs for valve gap as well as torque specs (both are usually located on the white catalyst sticker under the hood), remove valve cover and old gaskets, take a good size wrench with an extension and stick it on the crank pulley bolt (car has to be in neutral, and obviously safely jacked up). Crank the crank 180 degrees from it's current position. This will loosen a set of valves (3 at a time for single cam). They should be wiggle loose. From there, use the feeler tool to measure gap, loosen head bolts on valves that need adjusting, adjust accordingly. Crank the crank pulley bolt to rotate the crank and loosen the next set of valves, continue down the line. It was easy, and really quieted down my old POS civic.

You forgot a very important step. The engine MUST be at TDC on the compression stroke for each cylinder to properly adjust them.

Hell I would try and get on overseas. Had a guy in guard along with my dads friend who worked in Africa. Of course that is a time away as well. I know they were doing 30 30. Awesome pay though. Hell one of them just ordered stuff and made over a grand a day.

Theres tons of jobs that make well over a grand a day locally but i dont want to work that schedule. And im not going over seas.

Im at a point in my life i dont want to work like i did when i was in my early 20's

I don't blame Ya if I was younger and single with no kid it's a dream job. I do like to imagine what I could do with that type of money though. Finish my turbo civic. Move on to twin charging the si pay off the lancer and trade it off for an evo for the wife ahhhh.

Whoops haha yeah. That was what the whole crank the crank 180 degrees bit was about. Gotta be TDC on each cylinder correlating to it's valves.

Exactly. Money isn't everything. My best friend up and moved his whole family to Northern California for a pretty hefty raise, and he's already working it so he can come back down here (Southern California).

At home with the kiddos while the wife works half a day. Then we r headed to Denver to drop off the kids with grandma and go enjoy strippers and the New years celebration downtown.
