A whole motor will have a used clutch with questionable miles on it. Yonaka I've never read good reviews on it except for people who buy the parts for the sake of having parts, ie would serve you Thanksgiving dinner on paper plates and say it's as good as fine China. What clutch does everyone get on here when they need to replace it on a D series. I don't want to spend $250 on a exedy etc when I can buy a whole motor for that... Lol. Thought about buying a ebay clutch, Than thought about a yonaka stage 3 which is like $140... Will exedy oem replacement handle more power than stock? Like full bolt-ons, a cam, and tune for example...
You may wanna start a separate thread for this. I doubt a lot of technical people will be addressing this here. I'd probably also list what "mods" you are using. I drove my GSR with full exhaust system, built head, intake mani, tb, and intake on a stock clutch the whole time I had it and I sure wasn't a Sunday driver with it..Yes stock replacement exedy is cheap, (Also why I asked if it would hold up a few mods) Exedy stage 1+ is $250+. I really feel oem replacement won't hold up... I drive the car pretty hard, It has bolt-on's currently... Oem clutch was doing fine for daily purposes it would slip some whenever I ran the car hard, Heel-toe shifting rev matching etc the clutch just didn't hold and finally went.. Ebay clutch's I can see probably fine on a daily driven grandma car, oem replacement exedy not sure if it would hold, and yonaka stage 3 should do the job if it lasts... Exedy stage 1, comp, act, etc is all $250+ which I don't want to spend...
I'm alittle bit tired, Hopefully all that above makes sense...
