New Feature - User Tagging

Have you found a thread that you think would be interesting to a particular other member?
Asked somebody a question and you don't think they'll revisit a thread?
Want to call someone's attention to a thread for some other reason?

We've go you covered. Try using the new user tagging feature. You can either tag users at the top of a thread, using the tag users button, or use the @ convention:

[MENTION=6473]joe7987[/MENTION] Any advice?

If the user is accepting emails from CC, they'll be sent an e-mail with a link to the thread they were tagged in.

Just remember not to abuse this feature. If you're speaking to someone in a thread they frequent, you probably don't need to tag them. Also, do not tag people repeatedly.

Perhaps the tag option should only be allowed usable to those with a few posts in order to avoid abuse by the spammers.

HeX - I agree. At the moment, I don't know if there's a way we can set this up (I don't see an option in the mod or admin control panel), but I'll look deeper into it.

Truth. Also, if you have gmail, it seems that it puts all of the tagged e-mails into one e-mail thread, so it doesn't spam your inbox.
