New product on the market.....illuminated needles.

This is a two man operation out of their garage, and the needles have been completely concieved, designed and produced by them. Some serious tiome and money has been spent to develope a product that preforms flawlessly and will last.

They installed a set in my Dx (the kit is intended for Civic with a tach, so mine was custom) and would take the average enthusiest about 20 minutes to do. It basically consists of a transformer, three super thin UV cold cathode tubes in custom mounted housings, caps fro the needle bases and the needles themselves.

On my white fave gauges, the UV light shows up as purple, whic I kind of like, but on regular black face guages, all you will see is the illuminated needles. The needles can be pulled out and swapped for other colors in about 5 minutes.

I love the way the needles light up...it looks like they are internally lit. The install is nice and clean and inconspicuous.

I get it now. They use some kinda black light to "light up" the needles. I wish you couldn't see those two little tubes by your two outer gauges.

cant you paint stock needles with some florescent and put some black lights..wouldnt it glow almost the same way..im not really feeling the look of it in daytime..espeically with that brand name matrix..im not a fan of their products..

That Matrix thing is seperate from the needles. He said he put them in before.

i think the lil needles are pretty cool.....its like a way for the older rides to have the newer car luxury. Most of the new rides come with glowing needles and reverse light gauge faces

you cant f**k with VW golf needles and tach lights, they look awesome, looks like this company are trying for the same look, but they aint pulled it off to well. they would look better if the black lights were behind, out of sight.

Yeah, we used to do it in our Mini-Trucks.........paint all the numbers, needles, and some graphics........than purchase a 12v neon black light and BooYaa........Everythin glowin like mad, hard part is hidin the backlight.....krazy PEACE

First and foremost......
The product itself is just the needles....NOT the guage faces. Do some of you just look at the pictures and not even read the post?

On normal stock guages, you cannot see the purple glow of the UV lights. All that lights up is the needle itself. illumineedles are NOT trying to make them look like VW guages. If they wanted to do that, they would have made them look a hell of a lot better than factory VW guages.

As far as painting the needles and using UV lights, you can, but you'll never get the same high intensity glow like these. These needles are made from Lexan, which is infused with special uv reactive pigments, so the pigment goes all through the needles. These things put of their own light, and look like their lit with a bulb from the inside.

Also: they do have red available. Email them.

As far as being able to see the housing for the lamps on the sides.....thats just a funny angle of the shot. When you're in the car you can't even tell they are there.

The "company" making these aren't some big monstrosity like APC trying to sreal your money by selling crap. They are made in the garage of the two owners of the company (who both drive RHD S14's) and they are just trying to provide the industry with a product they think is cool.

coo..i seen it, it was in the faqs page.. what about stock cluster lights? from all the pictures i notice i barely or dont even see the stock cluster lighing. even though it looks cool, i would still like to see my numbers and amber color of my stock cluster. .the onlything im worried about is cutting my stock needles..SI cluster cost a grip..keep this forum updated about the group buy..im not on CSI as much as i use to be..

Yeah the website kinda needs to be finished... most f it doesn't work but who cares right? I like the look do they have yellow cause i wasn't paying attention just to be honest if they have yellow or blue i will jump in on the group buy.

pretty cool idea. someone should get that paint that only shows in a blacklight and make a design on the faces. it would look crazy how it would just appear when you turn the light on. but i think ill stick to my factory glowing needles...
