Meh, my Civic was faster than my buddies SRT-4. ;) As long as the motor is healthy and it's not a shitbucket, I'd say do it, then swap and/or boost it. You'll have a ton of fun.

No problem! If the clutch seems to get soft again you most likely have a small leak somewhere.

I'd inspect your clutch lines or leaks, and bleed the system of any excess air if you haven't done so already. :thumbs up

I had a similar issue. It was one my o2 sensors being faulty. When the car is started from cold, it runs open-loop, meaning the A/F ratio is controlled solely by the ECU, disregarding O2 sensor readings. When the car warms up, it switches to closed-loop and bases the A/F ratio on the feedback...

It's possible. That should be a quick fix so sand away some paint and see if that makes a difference.
