00 Civic Hatch Short Shifter

So i just picked up my first civic today i drove a 2001 Mazda MP3 before this and an old RX7 before that. I found with the Civic the clutch pedal is very soft and theres alot of freeplay in shifter and its not as tight and short throws as my other two cars. I was just wondering what mods there are to fix this? Would just a short throw shifter be enough or is there other things i can do to tighten everything up? Thanks in advance!!

I have a 93 Civic, very short shift compared to what I was driving before that (89 Toyota tercel) I find in most newer cars the shift gets shorter, this sounds like something is out of the ordinary, or maybe your mazda's just had a really short shift. As for the soft clutch, sounds normal for a civic.
