I was driving around and my engine check light came on and I took it to autozone and they checked it out for me and said it was a P0131 but said that they don't have a cross reference code with honda but had it with isuzu, mitsubitishi, and etc. They said it might my primiary 02 sensor but I just got a new OBX high performance O2 sensor and I had it for less then 7 or 8 month. The last time I had an engine check light it said that it was the o2 sensor but this time it throwing a different code. Anybody got the same problem? Thanks

DTC P0131: A Low Voltage Problem In The Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (Sensor 1) Circuit.

Except D16Y5 - 1.6L SOHC VTEC-E with Manual Trans

The Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S) detect the oxygen content in the exhaust gas and signals the ECM/PCM. In operation, the ECM/PCM receives the signals from the sensor and varies the duration during which fuel is injected. To stabilize the sensor's output, the sensor has an internal heater. The Primary HO2S (Sensor 1) is installed in exhaust manifold (D16Y8, B16A2 engine: exhaust pipe A).

Part 1 Of 2 (Except D16Y5 - 1.6L SOHC VTEC-E with Manual Trans)

Part 2 Of 2 (Except D16Y5 - 1.6L SOHC VTEC-E with Manual Trans)

P0131 can be thrown by the fuel pressure being out of spec, a bad O2 sensor or O2 sensor wires, or a bad ECU.

When was the fuel filter last replaced? Start by measuring the fuel pressure.

I don't know when the last time the fuel filter was changed as I only had the car for almost a year now. Car only has like 93,000 miles on it. How do you check the fuel pressure? Could it be the cold weather in NC? Thanks

Yeah I will just change the fuel filter but is there a special way that I should do it because I don't want fuel squirting everywhere. Got any instruction? Thanks
