2000 CD player slave work with 1996 AM/FM headunit?

Hey everyone! This is my very first post here on ClubCivic - don't ask me why since I've owned my 1996 Civic DX 5SP for about 10 years now. I just never got into the forum thing until now. When I realized how much information it contains, I was amazed. I've learned so much just in the past few months I've been lurking.
I just recently purchased an 2005 Acura TL 6SP - but had to hold onto my Civic, because I love her too much to let her go.
Anyway, enough about all that, my question was if anyone new if a 2000 Civic OEM CD player (slave) will connect up to a 1996 Civic AM/FM radio head unit. Thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to sharing and learning alot more from this group!

I thought they were only '96-'98. My '00 CD player from an Si is a full AM/FM/CD player. Not a slave.
