Anyone know who can fix my 02 censor? I got a 98 honda civic. I recently ( 3 or 4 months ago ) added my headers and I think that is the reason it came on. Can anyone help me out?

HELP PLEASE

You probably don't need it replaced. Take it to a shop that will hook it up to a computer for cheap or free. Mine was just throwing a code because it was no longer getting as much back pressure. They'll clear that code and it'll be all good.

Well when it first came on I took it to Autozone and they just told me that it was my 02 censor. What kind of shop do I need to go to? (sorry if i sound stupid but I know nothing when it comes to censors and s**t)

Not Autozone....
Just call some exhaust shops and let them know what's happening and find out their cost for hooking it up to the computer. It's really simple for them. When I had mine done they did it for free. 8)

...I work at a Honda Dealership as a Service Tech or as yall know it "a mechanic"....i would juss get an OBD2 scanner and hook it up...if da code deals wit da O2 sensor usually dat means da primary sensor has a high voltage output meanin its goin bad....usually civics are bad wit O2 sensor right about 70k or so......i usually work on civics wit dat code like everyday or so...

Now u can buy the sensor from all dis auto part stores which offer Bosch or u can go to Honda and spend da extra cash for OEM and let me tell u....i priced one for my ride..i was like "damn!!" so urs should be cheap and easy to fix....it dont take but 5minutes to fix... :D ....

Did you have it checked yet?, I don't know that I'd go by only what autozone says..... that 02 sensor is well over $200 if you go oem.

Yeah,,I took it to the dealership and they told me just for a regular one it is $250 with labor. So that is why i'm like hellz no.

Whenever I looked into them it was close to that without labor. So, if you don't have anyone around to help you out that's not that bad. It's pretty easy to change though if you've got someone willing to help you out.

^^^ it sux, I didn't figure it would be that bad either. But, I lucked out and that wasn't my problem. Good luck with it, if you need to you can wait a lil while to do it, it's not like your car's gonna catch fire because an 02 sensor is bad... the only major thing for a while is clogging up your catalytic converter.

I heard that if I keep it on like that , that it will mess up my other censors,,is that true?

^^^I'm not sure to what extent and every shop will tell you something a lil different. You should change it sooner rather than later but, if you need a month or so to get that money it can wait that long, that was all I was reallly saying. Anything that has to do with the ecu is touchy and I don't know enough about it to tell you exactly what's gonna happen. OnePointTurboSi could probably give you a better answer.

Yeah I have heard just about everything. So I will more than likely just buy the part and have someone here put it in for me. But thanks for you help,,,

Ok... when you put the header on... did you reset your ECU? If you added the header without resetting the ECU, pull the ECU fuse out for one minute and then replace... then start the car and let it idle for 10 minutes while the ECU get used to the new exhaust system flow rate. If you just add the header without resetting the ECU, it gets confused by the extra exhaust flow, and thinks something's wrong. This has the same effect of what others stated as 'use an OBD2 scanner to clear the code'... this clears the code without needing one of those silly scanners.
Your problem could be as simple as that.
If you're still having the same problem after that, the O2 sensor is bad... replace it.
If that were the case, I'd offer to do the work for you (takes all of 5 minutes)... but I live about 70 miles south of you.
