lookin to do a rod/piston build on a stock y8 (yea i know i need forged), and i was wondering what kinda turbo is gonna be the least expensive and most effective to run 15+psi, also do you recommend anything else being modified on the engine when boosting so much?

what does psi matter? its an arbitrary value. you need to set yourself a HP goal and work from there

u dont need forged so screw that, if u want to keep the motor longer yea but why ? its a d series their cheap what power goals u lookin for ? 15psi on a t25 is way different then a gt28.... u lookin for 200, 250, 300 come on mang

lookin for 300+ hp, but how much can i do and reasonably expect to get to the wheels?

also i've found ls engines locally cheaper than y8's so i'd like to keep it decently long and most importantly i don't want it down more than running ya know

also i'm not very knowledgeable on boosting so hence why a thing like "psi" seems like a dumb measurement to you but what i've always heard

if a y8 costs more than an ls, there is something wrong there. blow the y8 and get an ls, you'll be happier with it.

ls will make more power stock then a d stock. u can get up to 300 easier on a ls then a d....

www.turbod16.com go there... read read read and be happy knowing you did some research on something before jumping on it

psi is usualy a bad rule of thumb to measure because all engines are different such as people. A HP goal needs to be a goal, as was said..blah..blah

This throws up a red flag. Before you buy ANYTHING, learn your stuff. Psi, like said earlier, means nothing. It's all you've ever heard because the people telling you this don't understand turbos either. For this vauge of a questions I'm not going into details because I want you to learn the basics first. It'll help you in the long run.;)

appreciate the input and yea i guess i better do some research *sighs* lol

also, i was suprised to find that the y8's locally were much more expensive than the ls engines, ppl around here are so ass backwards
