i was wondering if it'll be too big/weird looking to have 17inch wheels on a civic coupe

and another question is i got OEM moldings (black) and im planning to paint my si lip to black..my question is if i should paint it to match the oem molding black or should i make it glossier or more shiny black..(btw im planning to keep the oem moldings the same) thanks for helping a newcomer XD

I'm rockin 17's on my 2000 coupe... the only thing i dont like is the fact that i cant drop it as low as i want...
Here's a pic of mine so you can get somewhat of an idea... im sure there are better pics on the site...

As far as the lip... what color is your car? If the car is anything other than black I would go flat black on the lip and moldings... but if your car is black... id paint them to match... but its whatever you think looks better...

Oh and welcome to the site

you can get away with 17's on a Civic but any bigger than that is too big. 16's are generally a better size for Civic's although 17's can look good sometimes. As far as the side moldings, paint them body color, might as well do your handles, skirts, mirrors etc... (whatevers not painted) all at the same time. Shouldn't cost much extra, you'll get a better deal doing it all at once.

i have 17's, you can see in my avatar, they look ok with lips and a really good drop, i dropped it just enough so that i rub just a little when i turn....if it isn't dropped that much without lips, it would look weird, if you want 17's, you better get some kind of body kit, like a buddy club or cwest, something clean....but i would stick with 16's....i have 17's because my exhaust hangs so low and i needed my car to be a little higher off the ground, and i didn't want to raise it

i use 17s on my 02 but it's a sedan and i think i need 18's so they fill the wheel wells but that's just me, my car is not dropped and i don't really want to lower it,
so maybe on yours they'll fill the weelwells pretty good but if you are planning to lower it they might be too big

thanks guys..im not quite sure about my dropping situation .. but i dont wanna dip it to the floor or anything

as for the color of my car..its silver and im leaving the moldings untouched so i guess flat black should match it?

17s r fine for ur model if u dont want a deep drop, get some mild springs (ex. Tein H-Techs) simple drop and u'll never scrape or rub even if u tried.

Def. 17's

i have 17" motegi MR7's on my 2000 2dr. looks extremely nice, also dropped the car 2.25" with eibach spring and tokico shock/struts. The handling is def noticable, ride is a little louder but worth it. Do it up!

i think it would look good as long as you get the right rims. imo only certian rims can be pulled off on a civ that are 17's. and also paint the lip to match the paint w/ a glossy finish.
