Guyz,

Okay, she is not the prettiest. She is not the fastest. She's pretty clean, has only 93,000 miles, only on her 2nd clutch and does okay from light to light racing. The tiny 1.5 with such a light car, just under 2000 pounds, sprints pretty quick. I can chirp in 3rd gear sometimes, hehehe! I just hope Caddy can help me sort my computer code problem (fiingers crossed!)

Oh, she came with ugly SI hub caps so I removed them and cleaned the black wheels so at least they look decent. Would get rims and beefy meats but don't have the $$

Any comments on what ya think of her. I do get wierd looks from kids in newer gens that have never seen this year SI.

Trivia, the car pictured if the first Honda Civic SI hatchback, according to honda literature I have found.

Read the first paragraph in this add from honda

I have looked through the kick ass pics here and my car looks as old as a model T compared to these nice rides :(

Anyway, enough of my useless rantings before you get sick of me and them!

Wow, my 95 has more mileage than your 86 (mine has 122k)... First time ive ever seen a civic thats older than 88. Pretty cool that its in such good condition, looks really clean man. It basically looks the same as the 88-91, but maybe a little bit smaller, kinda hard to tell. Cool though, and good luck with your ECU problem... (My CEL keeps coming on too, have to figure it out also, but mine is coolant tempature related according to the code its throwing.)

I used to have one! I traded it for an 88 Accord, then sold that and now I have my EG with 275,000km on it. (with rebuilt head)

Guys,

Thanks for all the nice comments. The most important issue with 86's civic is keep the rust down and keep em clean to the dirt does not build up in areas where water does not evaporate and such including snow.

In terms of her future plans, I hate to dissapoint but other than plans for keeping good tires on her (car is light and needs good rubber to stay planted) she will stay all stock.

Considering I hold my own light to light a part of the time, no need to mod her up. It's hard to mod this year, not many after market parts as this was the first SI to come out.

Oh, If I do sell her, I will let you guyz know in case someone wants to give her a good home!

Man that is amazing, here in NY you barely see a one if any. It might have to do with the fact that here in NY summers are very humid and winters are brutal, thus they rust away, way before the engines go!

I got lucky with mine, very little rust and if there was I used a product that nuetralizes the rust and turns in back into metal, thus, retarding or stopping the process.

I have seen a few before...they are clean when done correctly. They have one on AutoModellista. I look forward to seeing how this car goes!

I would have to say the shape is odd so you can't really trick up the bodies to much.

I did see one here recently, the guy went overboard and it looked like tricked up shoe box. Way to may decals and stuff alongs those lines.

To bad they don't make any lense replacements for this year as I see potential for the rears since the rear lenses are practically one long horizontal bar across the whole rear.
