I have a1991 Honda civic ex I was recently driving down the steet when I pull I noticed the I car overheat before I pulled over I heard a loud pop sound from under the hood after pulling over. I lifted the hood a serene it was my overflow cap that Pope's off I put water in the Radiator and went home the next day I noticed the car began to overheat again so I put more water in it an seen water seeping out from the overflow cap so I went to wal-mart and purchased some coolant abou30min after pouring maybe a cup of coolant I looked in my rear view mirror and seen a big cloud of white smoke so I thought it needed an oil change I took it to quality tunes and they said it would be a waste of money cause I might have. A blown head gasket. And told me I should buy some block sealant. I naught bars & leak block seal. And. Put it in the next day and after II did so the engine vibration stopped but the white smoke was still there but drove fine so day 3 woke up started to drive everything fine untilled maybe about 15min the white smoke started to come out more than I ever seen and the car started to vibrant like crazy and that's where I left off so can anyone help me and let me know what to do from here? I'm not sure how to receive an answer so my email is melvinray21@yahoo.com

Bad head gasket. Sorry. That stop leak doesn't work, its just something someone invented to make more money...

The white smoke is your engine burning coolant. The reason that you are building up excessive pressure in your cooling system is because your engine is overheating and exhaust gasses are entering your coolant.

Okay is there anything I can do to stop this? and how does this happen? Also I was driving the car today started off good and then began. To overheat I notice that once it overheated the car seem to drive fine but still had white smoke lastly. When the car gets going it runs fine but the check engine light comes on but I think this is from the car overheating. And if worst comes to worst what would be the cheapest but the most smartest way to go about repairs

So by no chance what's so ever could it be the PVC valve or the vacuum or heater hose. Just curious on why my heater had stop working for about 45mins after using bars&leak block seal

Because the block seal is crap and clogs up your heater core and radiator. Unfortunately the only option you have is to pull the head, replace the head gasket and have the head decked to check for a warped surface or cracking.

00siboy is correct dont forget new oil and filter and radiator flush and if u are running a stock CAT be ready to change it because it has bin contaminated and eventually will clogg up..

^^This too. Anything such as burning coolant or a really rich condition can ruin a cat. I'm not saying its definitely bad already, but if it happens to go bad in the near future you will know why.

Regardless, the first thing you need to do is STOP DRIVING THE CAR. Kinda sounds like you're just expecting it'll be an easy fix or will just go away. It won't. And the more you drive your car and the more it gets hot or overheats, the greater your chances for warping your head, and then it's all over but the cryin'...

Ok one more question before I begin reparis. I had tried that blue devil gasket repair before I had read my replies but its doing now is when I first start the car it has a rough idle and when its starts to warm up its start to hesitate when accelerating and stalls but no more white smoke also when cold and accelerating its seems to me like it sputtered. Not really sure if thats the rite word but would like to know the reason it start doing this after I put the blue devil stuff in sorry if this was answered I just learning

Like I said before, its probably clogged up everything in your cooling system like your idle air control valve, coolant sensor, etc. and giving wacky readings to your pcm. There is a chance that the block seal is working temporarily, but its never a permanent fix. You need to take everything apart again, clean EVERYTHING and maybe even do a good flush. I know its not what you want to hear, but I have had enough experience to say that this is the most likely issue.
