Hello forum members. Just introducing myself. I've owned my 1991 Civic since 2004. I bought it with 135,000 on it and have since added another nearly 130K. It still gets approximately 40 mpg highway and 35 city. It seems the valve seals might be worn (lots of oil smoke after going down steep hills for longer distances, when using engine as brake), but other than that the car seems to have few probs. I am getting ready for my 4th trip in the past two years from the Phoenix AZ area to Los Cabos, Baja California Sur and back. The car has also done very well on Forest Service Roads, unpaved Mexican roads, lots of dirt roads in the West. I'm hoping to keep her going as long as possible. Any tips for this model year or for the 20+ year old Honda in general will be greatly appreciated.

That's what happened to my a6. Every time you let off the gas with it in gear, then go to accelerate again it blows a huge cloud of smoke, right? I never figured out exactly what it was. I just swapped in a y7 block and head and hooked up all the a6 stuff to it. I highly recommend doing so. Cheap and the y7 is a smooth little effer.
