I have a DX as a project car.
A few weeks ago I was driving it and the fuel and spark both shut off at the same time. THIS ONLY HAPPENS DURING RAIN EVENTS!!!
After this happened I started to hear a click from the main relay under the dashboard. The main relay gets hot after only running for a while
(this relay contains 7 prongs. 2 for the ECU, 1 for FUEL PUMP, 1 for the IGNITION and 1 for the starter I believe)
Prior to cleaning the pigtail here was more corrosion on all the prongs. but after cleaning them with electrical cleaner it ran and idled alot better. There is a little bit of corrosion on TWO prongs still. One for the GROUND and on the ECU port. not alot but a little maybe 1/3 of the female side it covered.
My Tachometer jumps(not the idle), It will intermittently die while idling, and when I try to do a hard acceleration the car sputters and the TACH goes nuts.
WOULD THIS BE ENOUGH CORROSION TO CAUSE AN ISSUE?
please help. thank you
