1996 Hatch Dash Lights

Hi everyone, I have a 1996 Honda Civic Cx that shuts the lights off in the cluster when I turn the brights on. When I click the brights off the lights come back on. Anyone have the same issue? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Have you bothered to loosen the cluster & inspect it? You might see an obvious issue if you just look.

sounds like a short, would also be good to check the light switch as well

You should take some stuff apart and check for burnt cables, or any signs of bad wiring for that matter. You can go pick up a new light lever at a junk yard for pretty cheap, and it's extremely easy to put on yourself (I've replaced my blinker one before in about 15 minutes). Maybe see if you can post some pictures or your wiring?
