I recently bought a 1996 honda Civic (ex 2 door 5 speed). This is my first honda so im not familiar with them and i am not a mechanic.I have had the car about 3 weeks. The first week I had a fuse problem (that was resolved in another thread) now I am having another problem. I drove the car around town and on the freeway about 40 miles or so and it ran perfect. I stopped with the wife for dinner came out and again it ran perfect but on the way home it all the sudden hesitated like it was out of fuel and died.it restarted just long enough to get me out of traffic I tried multiple times to restart it but ended up getting it towed home. Once home it starts right up and runs like a champ! But now I'm scared to drive it. I was thinking maybe its a fuel pump but I dont want to spend the 135$ on a fuel pump and that not be it. anyone have any ideas or things I could try.

Have you checked for CEL codes? Does the CEL remain on while driving?

Remove the coil and ICM from the distributor. Resistance test the coil and have an auto parts store test the ICM for you.
