1997 Civic Hx Build

I just got my first Civic. Its a 97 Civic Hx. Figured id start my build thread as well sense thats where im going with it. Got somethings to do to so let me know what you guys think. These are just the pics of my phone ill update more when i get my camera charged.

When it first got pulled into the garage

The rear interior was fully gutted. Got all the pieces from a buddy of mine and cleaned them up real good.

They gutted the car but left the seats belts???

nice, how do you plan to go about building? I'm on my second civic myself and I'm trying to make an all motor monster but clean!!

i plan on getting all Si parts such as bumpers, headlights, idk if i need to change my hood or not or what else needs changed. prolly carbon fiber trunk/hood then i wanna get a turboed either ls swap or the Si B16 and turbo it

if u want to do an si conversion then ull need to chang a lot of stuff cuz parts from a 99-00 wont fit on a
96-98. you will need si finders, hood, and bumper.

you have a 1997, so to do a Si front end, you would need the 99-00 Si headlights, hood, front bumper, grill, and side fenders.

But i would suggest keeping your 1997, a 1997.... dont make it look like something its not, everyone else is doing that... so keep it looking like a 1996-1998. They look really clean with the CTR lip and CTR Headlights.

But thats just my .02

yea i was looking around and found the thread on here with all 96 to 98 front ends and i plan on keeping it. I think front and rear lips will look awesome. My thing im really looking for is a motor swap. I have a built D16A6 right now. How hard would it be to get that running in my car? Its a obd0 motor and pm6 ecu. My car is obd2 i believe so any help is greatly appreciated. Then ill be getting alot more up here

im tryn to get a 97 shell... and for the engine i would say a b16... ls engines are dissapointing once u have drove and felt vtec in a b16... when i drive them i am just witin for vtec then rev limiter.... very dissapointing but other people have different oppinions on them too

Ive actually never been in a vtec car so i really have no clue the feeling. I plan on either doing a built Ls swap to go to 300hp or a b16 vtec turbo build. not sure yet but itll be right around tax time. No matter what i do i want 300hp dd

Btw i rederd a cold air intake, fog lights, and a front lip hopefully theyll be here soon

dude get in a vtec si n u will fall in love way over an ls engine they suck so bad im sayin vtec turod you would fall in love and your starting with more power that will pull on a stock ls easier just makes more sense to start better at first. looks like it will end up comin out sweet.

Yea man. My only thing is funds right now. Im pushing just about 300xxx on my d16y5. Could i just throw a d16a6 in there for now cause im waitin till summer to get my B series.
Id have a pm6 ecu

Well right before christmas i got layed off from my job. I was ordering stuff but never ot around to it and spent my money for family stuff instead.

Figured id update just my sub and amp install i got for christmas,

Starting design idea

Final Idea. Still gotta wrap it in cloth or something not sure on that yet

Look's decent so far keep up the good work...Go with a Jun Lip kit. CBF hood & trunk...even though i have a 2000 Civic. I would 2nd the whole keeping your car original 96-98 style...get you some fog's and etc....if you got laid off which suck's because most people are in this economy. I would either save for a while which would slow your build a long time depending on your income or purchase exterior/interior parts because they are cheaper than a 2k or more motor swap...

i got another job luckily from friends knowing people. Im just tryin to catch up on stuff but yea i plan on a lip, lowering, and carbon fiber parts right around tax time. a intake and small stuff will come soon though

Alright well ive got a couple things on order now.
First off i got a frog eye Gauge pod for free from a buddy. Thought it was for his 95 but its for the 96 to 98

Second i finally got a intake just to get rid of that whole stock intake box thing. I got it off ebay for cheap but im picking up a better filter tomorrow.

Other things on order is a Si Grill, Antenna Delete Kit, and some Type R door panel inserts. Will update pics as i get more things.

Well i finally graduated high school got alot of money from that so things are coming together. Ordered a new Front Bumper, Driver Fender, Fog Lights, Oem Grill, Si Rear Tail Lights, ASR brace and 22mm sway bar, also got blow lower control arms.

Function and Form Type 1's being ordered next week.
