1997 Civic HX jerking issue

Hello everyone, i am new to the site so please bear with me on this,

Okay so down to the issue at hand, i just bought a 1997 civic hx 5-speed manual, it drives nice and whatnot, but when i give it gas in ANY gear, or let off the gas in ANY gear it jerks/sputters. It's kind of hard to explain without driving it for yourself, ive been told it's a number of things (vacuum leak, IACV valve, IACV motor)

So im very confused on which issue it is, but i got the code read and it read a code P0505, that means it's most likely the issue. I just thought i woud jump on here and get some opinions/advice.

Clean the IACV and then go from there.

UPDATE - Well i cleaned the IACV, helped for about 2 hours. Engine light back on, time for a new idle control motor?

It's uncommon for the IACV to go bad. Are you having idle speed problems? High idle, low idle, or hunting idle?

It'll idle from 1,600 RPM, then go to 800. It'll keep doing that until i turn the A/C on, then it quits.

Was P0505 thrown again, or a new code?

Try adjusting the idle speed as per the service manual instructions for your engine - see site 1 in my signature.

Got the IACV cleaned, and timing belt replaced (was already cracked and lost its tension) And the idle is perfect. It does idle to 3-500 tho,(It's not a fluttering idle, it's steady one) not sure it's a big deal but rather safe than sorry i suppose.

Now there is a strange knock in the left front wheel (control arm? Bushings?) Who knows, gotta get it checked out.
