Hey Guys...first and probably only thread on here. I'm a former 5th gen owner, two of them actually, but my question is about a 6th gen.
My little brother just got his first car, a 1999 Civic LX. His birthday is coming up next week, and i'm trying to outfit his car to make it iPod ready. I've decided a new head unit is the best way to go.
My question is whether or not i need a new dash-fit kid to use a single-din receiver. He has the double-din slot in his dash, and i have 2 donor stereo's to work with. But i'm two hours away and can't look at the stereo now.
I want to know if i can take off the faceplate for the stock stereo and use it with the aftermarket receiver, or if i do in fact need to purchase the kit ($20 from Crutchfield where i'm buying the unit).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
