I have a custom turbo kit I got for my 94 DX with and EX motor. The kit has a TD04 turbo (1st Gen Eclipse Automatic Turbo). I have a TurboXs Standard Boost Controller I am going to use. I have heard something that the stock wastegate is set to 14 psi and I cannot lower it at all. Is this true?

i used to have a 1st gen eclipse, but w/ a TD05 turbo, i used to turn the boost down to 11lbs. fer road trips.

whats was the point of that?? you cannot turn the boost down via a boost controller. youll have to mess with the spring in the wastegate.

explain your reasoning. im pretty sure its about the size of the t25. which is a great turbo for fast as f**k spooling and moderate power in the lower to mid range.

nononono u guys dont know therefore dont post

u can lower the wastegate psi setting by make the actuator arm longer

cut the arm in half, thread both sides and add a nut in the middle with the desired length
BTW doing this may affect spooling time but its better than blowing a motor

Id rather NOT f**k with the arm. you can play with the boost setting via the internal of the wastegate. i do not suggest you cut your actuator arm.

if im correct look at the rod that goes from the wastegate to the exhuast housing, if there is a nut on there then it can be adjusted down, ofcourse not all turbo's have that nut, but this is one way it can be done, but you need a good boost gauge and some time to wait for the turbo to cool between adjusting the nut.

i believe it's a garrett t3, greddy's turbo kit for the 92-95 civic ex has the same nut on the rod deal though, and they are i believe a mistu turbo design.
