Im gonna get a HID kit for my civic very soon and need to know which is better. I have 2 choices since these are the only ones Ive seen for under $400.

#1 Choice
Price $350
Brand: MeccaTune should be using Hella Ballasts

8300K

#2 Choice
Price $300
Brand: Cannot Find Brand

5300K

So far I want the 8300K's but dont want the blue tint and also looking into the 5300k blubs.

Anyone ever use these type of bulbs? I dont mean HALOGEN HID WANNABES...The real deal.

5300K seems whiter with little to no blue based on what Ive seen.
8300K is like a bright blue but is also really bright white.

Im also looking for a dual beam HID setup.

Look foward to your opinions.

Good luck with your buy, but I've seen a few people ditch the HID's after the fact b/c they thought the light scatter was too much of a hassle. Oh, as far as the dual beam, instead you can install a relay to "flick" the light to simulate the high beam switch to keep you legal. Getting a dual kit will increase the price 100-150. Just my .02

Hmmm...I have yet to think about the light scatter. I have heard about it but how bad is it really?

Can this "Plastic Shield" covering the bulb have anything to do with preventing less "scatter" as opposed to other bulbs without the cover?

5300k will provide more light than the 8300k and will look less blue. Can't comment on the brands though, but remember, you get what you pay for.

if you got questions about HID let me know on AIM, two of my friends works for SuperHIDS.com i had a group buy thing here when he went out of business...but 8000K you'll only see blue light, no white at all.. i advise you to get 5300K - 6000K
5300K - OEM style all white no blue tint at all
6000K - above OEM style with blue tint which where the light out put is less then 5300K

temp of teh HID don't matter, it's just the colors and higher the temp more bluer and purpler it'll get and less white light it'll produce.. Yellow light is best for your eyes, close thing is i'll get is 4300K which is just bright white, or 5300K

this is H4 HID Kit from superhids.com you should of told me earlier i had one left... but the H4 does not scatter like other HID Kit, plus if you buy the #2 choice it's all plug and play while if you buy #1 choice you'll need to run the wires to the battery and mount the ballista near your headlight unit as those HID kits are made for car with HID's...

i have 6000K when i turn it on it'll be deep baby blueish color then you gatta let the ballista warm up and it'll be pure white with blue tinit, like the BMW 5 series..

Does SuperHids have dual beam function? Whats the price increase verses the single beam? I will also look into the in-line relay.

Correct...

The first kit from MeccaTune seems to have pretty good technology as far as using certain parts from certain companies like "Hella" Ballasts'.

The second one that is the 5300K kit uses a brand called McCulloch which I have never heard of.
Hella is basically OEM for most German cars, McCulloch is a well known name brand if you're into HID.. MCCulloch and Bohmen are the same company which uses same technology... i prefer McCulloch as it's all plug and play, but that's just me...

Ok...

Lets say that I would purchase a kit from you. Do you have an official website with order forms and such? You have an eBay account with stuff listed?

What will be the final price for the dual beam kit and perhaps free shipping?

I like the plug and play kits since they are much easier to mess with. These SuperHid Kits are P and P?

Anyone highbeaming you yet for being too bright?

[EDIT]

I can get a kit for reasonably priced but offer me YOUR best price and maybe we can have a deal providing that you have an official online store. Remember, dual beam hid kit @ 5300K since I dont want 8300K.

Im not gonna expliot pricing or where my so-called sources are coming from.

Here's my story on people high beaming me...
I was a HID test for companies (can't say their names) which had Hella ballista and had 5300K hid bulbs with crappy glare shield, which was made out of plastic i believe and didn't cover the the bulb like the glare shield picture above.. move like half a circle ... i always got highbeamed, and also i ahd to run it to the battery which was crappy cuz wires were too short...then i got 8300K Phillips HID with out the glare shield, which was very crappy wasn't made for H4 cars no glare shield lights shining everywhere and blinding people, i've tried HID's in regular projectors such as TYC, and tried with retrofitted projectros from Audi, BMW, S2000 and etc... yes the light is good with projectors, but i prefer OEM projectors, but retrofitting is illegal as i heard so yea there goes that...
Next i got a Bohmen HID kit to test, which was very bright, but the light bulbs were colored blue which mean it's not the real color, NEVER buy colored or color injected bulbs.
...friend of mine went out of business and had couple of McCulloch HID kit's left i'd say about 30 i got me a 6000K, no highbeam from other cars what so ever... my kit looks exactlly like that above with the glare shield.. helps really good at night and doesnt' even blind others...

i do not have a site where i sell the HID kits, or have an eBay account that i sell em, but my friend works for SuperHIDS and i can prob get you a good deal on it... i had some kits up for sale about 2months ago, but no noe bought it... i have 2 Kits left at home which are
6000K H4 Singel beam
6000K H7
if you got any questions let me know
