2000 Accord question

I know this is a civic forum but I also own a 2000 Accord that is having problems and thought I would try to get some answers. The car drinks coolant. It is not leaking anywhere and will over heat while sitting at a red light. Rarely will it over heat while driving. I can't figure out what is wrong with it. Any advice?

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response. I probably know less about cars than anyone on the forum. How much is this going to cost? Will it hurt it to just keep driving it and putting coolant in it to prevent overheating?

Thanks again,

db

Over the life of the car, yes it will cost more. And I agree, sounds like a head gasket problem.

yes it would. you may end up warping the engine head or just detonating the engine. I would say under $600 to be fixed.
