Ok, I have a B16a2 with the ECU that comes with it in my car. I was wondering if the GSR ECU would make any difference with anything or if I should just leave it the way it is. I have no problem getting it. I just need to know what difference it would make if any at all. Thanks :???:

Don't just swap ECUs for no reason. If you just plugged a GSR ECU in, it would think you had a GSR motor. Not a good idea.

Alright, thats cool. I have just heard of people swaping computers with different motors and heads for diffent affects and what not.

i did it out of curiousity once didn't hurt my b16 but i didn't gain anything....as a matter of fact i think that theb16 ecu did better than the gsr ecu

Alright, I didn't think it would do much if it even did anything. What about if I did the head swap too? Would I really gain anything on that with the b16a2 block? I already have the GSR trani in it and runs fine. Its geared a little lower than the si but not enought to really tell. But also if I swap heads I will have to change the headers and intake right?

That's because an ECU is going to work better with the motor it's made for. ECUs are, to some degree, adaptable (hence why your car didn't blow up), but you're not going to gain anything by just swapping ECUs.
