Hello - I have a 2000 civic ex coupe with 180k miles. Every now and then, (last time was @ 2k miles ago), out of nowhere and usually when you're doing 50 mph or more, the entire car just starts shaking like somebody has applied the brakes while you are trying to accelerate. The brake pedal during these escapades is very high and hard. After 3 or 4 minutes, whatever was screwing up just stops and the car returns to normal! I have taken it to 2 different shops and nobody can find anything wrong. I have replaced both front calipers, pads, rotors and brake lines. It has rear drums, with new brake shoes and drums. The last time it did this, when i got home i noticed that both front wheels were hot ( you could smell and feel the heat), the back wheels were cool. Any thoughts would be appreciated since I am going crazy trying to figure this one out. shadester

Sounds like brake drag, make sure you have a little play between the brake light switch and the peddle. If the brake peddle is out of adjustment, as the brake fluid heats up and expands, if the hot expanding fluid has no place to go it starts pushing the caliper pistons out and applying the brakes.
I would start with that.
