2000 Em1 needs Assistance

Ok dont know how to start but.i recently been having some trouble with my em1 and could use the help. Backround info is b16a2 with brian crower stage 2 cams . Running PO6 vtec converted and Hondata s100 chip, was running perfect until my distributor started goin out until my car would choke and not turn on I changed the rotor and now it.starts but struggles at starting chech engine light.came on and vtec.is.no longer engaging I was running it.like that for two days now my car is.choking again and wont start right when It does I hear a scraping noise coming from the head near the distributor can someone discuss this issue with me

Honestly havent checked it but I will check.it asap and post it I kno that sometimes when I would start the car the light would come on and vtec is totally off but when it wouldnt turn on vtec ran perfect now light constantly stays on and vtec is not engaging

Sounds a lot like the issues I was having. I don't know for sure if it pertains to the b16 dizzy (from what I recall, it does though), but with my d16 single cam, my Crankshaft Position Sensor took a dump, which is conveniently housed in the distributor itself. Replacing the rotor won't fix the problem if this is the case. My car was stuttering/sluggish as hell in low RPM, Vtec wouldn't engage etc. as well. I had to replace my whole dizzy. Definitely run the CEL, as that will point you in the right direction, then get back to us.

Appreciate the help and yes that sounds exactly what my car is doing and I'll check the code as soon as I get home . Im also wondering if this had to do with a timing issue last owner was planning on doing a ls vtec for more torque so he tapped the head but I wanted it stock so he left it running a oil line and vtec worked fine and loud just some more back round info
