2000 honda civic dx...more hp

hi i have a 2000 dx and am wondering how i might get more hp for a cheap budget...im only 17 and cant afford something like a turbo but anything else i can, just tell me the best setup

Yeah that d16y7 is nothing without some boost. Other option is swap.

if i were you i would save up for something like an exhaust or intake they dont cost as much and don't go my route you should actually get quality parts if you want power.no eBay.

Dont get intake. You can swap on a vtec head. Reseqrch mini me swaps

If you shop smart you can build a nice turbo kit for under a grand. Will it make 500whp, nope, but it will make more than the stock motor can take. (Btw this is using real factory parts from other turbo cars, not some crap kit sold on eBay.)

If you have money to swap you have money to turbo so I'm sure a swap is out of the question. I would do a mini me swap with either a y8 or z6 head then get a custom cam grind from bisimoto or crower, after this you will need tune.I'm sure with a good tune, exhaust, cam, intake and head swap you might see 40 hp gain

Ls swap. I did mine in highschool. With a b16 trans it was badass atm

You can probably do the whole thing for under 800

I noticed only a slight performance gain with my AEM intake. I'd recommend it.

But these "mini me" swaps sound intriguing. I've gotta look into those
