2000 SI Factory CD Player Problems?

Hey guys, my 2000 Si still has the factory Honda CD player that came with the car. It's really not that bad of a headunit, it sounds decent and I like that it lights up amber and matches the rest of the interior. For some reason though when I try to put CD's into it, it makes a noise like its trying to read the CD and then ejects it back out. The code that comes up on the receiver is "E-00". I checked my owners manual and it doesn't say much about it at all, other than if that code comes up I should take it to Honda. I know taking it to Honda won't be cheap and I'm probably going to end up replacing it with an aftermarket one with the price it will be to fix the factory unit. Does anybody know what that error code means by chance? It cant be anything to do with burnt CD's or anything because I've tried both burnt CD's and regular CD's. Thanks guys!

I'm not sure what it is either so if someone knows please chime in. For the time being, i've heard that that can be fixed by cleaning the lens on the cdplayer with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. I think i tried this and it didn't work for me but i don't remember since it was some time ago.

If you do take it in you should let us know what they say at honda.

Its kinda hard cleaning it with a Q-Tip since hell have to take out the whole unit and disassemble the casing in order to do so.

They sell those laser cleaners that are discs with brushes at most audio stores. Try those, they usually work.
