2000 Si Speed Sensor/Odometer Trouble

Hello,
I realize this is in past/old threads but i couldn't find the answer im looking for...

I have a 2000 Si, Just bought (2nd one) only issue its having is the speedo meter and the odometer. The speedo works sometimes, its not accurate but it sometimes will stay focused when its not jumping around.. now, my trip meter works when my speedo is working (if thats what you wanna call it) but my odometer is staying in the same place.

Tried Replacing the fuse ( #15 7.5amp) nothing, cleaned out the plug to the VSS...nothing.. is it the actual VSS unit that needs replacing?

Probably, it costs a little over $100 at honda. Worth a try.

i found one on ebay for 30 bucks.. hopefully this will fix this issue!! thanks

If that doesn't fix it just find you a donor cluster and swap out the speedometer. I had the same problem. I switched the VSS and it didnt work. so i then bought a test harness from honda and narrowed it down to the speedo. Goodluck man
