hey guys i have a few issues with putting a 01 gsr motor into a 95 hatchback DX.
first of all it has no vtec wires, so it will need to be wired for vtec. anybody have a tutorial on it?
2nd the motor is obd2 and the car is obd1...how will i deal with that? will the plugs go into each other? i know they make conversion harnesses but i dont know which one i'd have to get.
and will i be able to use my shift linkage from my 1.5 motor? or do i need b series linkage?

sorry for all the questions at once....but thanks in advance for any help!!

when u do a swap you change the motor, tranny, shift linkage, motor mounts, and ecu. if you are going to do it, do it right.

You'd also need the ECU out of the teggy, since the DX isn't set up for VTEC, right or wrong?

ok the reason you cant use the obd1 off his car is that its not programmed for vtec, every ecu is programed for certain engines: fuel program, vtec engage, and other features.

the ecu of the gsr is an obd2 but its better to run a ob1 or p28. if im wrong please fix it.

another thing is that when you do a swap you get the whole package some come with linkage some dont. oh another important thing to rememer is make sure you get the right motor and tranny mounts for your car.

got my swap

Kjeldor:
obd1 and obd2 are plug and play BUT the obd2 ecu has different pin out than the obd1 ecu so it may fit in, but the wires wont be going to the right spot. that is why you cant do it.

As for me im just gonna buy the ecu harness for around 80$.
Pics of my swap will be up hopefully tomorrow..
