hey everyone:

Ok im a girl but i checked everything in my car almost. I have and 01 honda civic ex with an interior cluster problem....none of my lights in my dash are working at all. I have checked and replaced all my fuses inside and outside my car. I have checked all the wiring in my aftermarket radio....i have taken my car to the dealership to get the light switch and wire harness replaced and nothing has changed. My lights still have not been working! Please help !!!! Let me know what else i can test or if i have missed something!

Thanks

Try taking out the cluster. Then find a 12v dc power source-you could use your car battery if you want. put the leads from the 12v dc power source on the back of the gauge.(just remove one of the bulbs and put the +12 on the top of the space where there is bare copper, and the - on the bottom.) and see if it lights up, if it does that means the problem is somewhere in the car, if it doesn't light up, then you know that its a problem with the gauge itself.

Thank you so much for the response I will try that asap and let you know the result. I also just read online that there was a problem with the dimmer lights for the cluster that caused it to overheat but in the Accords...wondering if it may be a possibility for my civic...there was a recall on the accords only so I will find out tomorrow if there is anything the dealership can't do for me.

Is your dimmer switch possibly turned all the way down?
