2003 Civic EX dashboard acting strange...Help please!

My 2003 Honda Civic is acting up - the car runs fine, but the dashboard is going haywire. Car starts fine, but the malfunction warning light never goes off. After driving for a minute or two, many of the other warning lights come on, even the ones that make no sense (particularly the brake light, when nothing was done to the brake - the other lights that come on for no reason are the ABS, low fuel, and supplemental restraint system.) These lights then may turn off again as I continue driving, or else the entire dash goes blank except for the warning lights (no gas gauge, spedometer, or anything) - then the gauges can come back up. It seems to switch between three states: everything OK except the malfunction inidicator light; all the warning lights mentioned but otherwise running fine; no readings displayed except for warning lights. It seems that there might be some type of electrical problem, but I'm at a loss.

Thanks for your help....

Check your alternator to see if its charging at least 13.5 volts or more. Intermittent low or no charging voltage can cause weird electrical issues. Also go somewhere and have them scan for codes.
