2005 Civic Won't Go Past 4k RPM or 80 MPH

2 door coupe had a d17a2 motor i bought it blown up and bought a jdm motor d17a and installed it my self but it redlines at 4k and once i hit 80mph it cuts out its a 5 speed

Sounds like it's in limp mode. Is the CEL on?

Standard civic speed/rpm. No problems described

I'd guess your usdm ECU doesn't like your jdm motor...

the same thing happened to my sedan a few weeks back. when it happened to me the car threw the code p2646 so there may be some steps to help fix it online but i wont be much of a help because my motor just blew last week.
